About Ranji the First

This is Ranji the first with my grandmother Chandler in Orange - circa 1938. She was widowed and ran the newsagency (formerly a general agency run by her husband Harry) opposite the railway station in Peisley Street Orange. She died in 1939 and Ranji was given to the army. Would love to know what happened to him. The house above the newsagency was my first home.

Can't think about packing until Barry finishes helping to organise the Lions Charity Golf Day on Monday and this weekend is the Batemans Bay Writers Festival - I have a 'platinum' ticket so will be full-on for the two days.

Last year there was a literary luncheon with Richard Glover - one of my favourite broadcaster/columnists. Have been in the live audience of a few 'Thank God It's Friday' shows. The last we went to featured the Whitlams. Fantastic entertainment - and what's more it's free.
